Our Privacy Commitment

Live Photo Converter is built with privacy as a core principle. We believe your photos are your private property, and we have designed our app to ensure they remain that way.

Data Collection

What We DON'T Collect

Live Photo Converter does not collect, store, or transmit:

• Photos or images from your device
• Photo metadata (EXIF, GPS, timestamps, etc.)
• Personal information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Usage analytics or telemetry data
• Crash reports or diagnostics
• App usage patterns or behavior
• Location data beyond what's embedded in your photos

What We DO Access (On Your Device Only)

The app requires limited access to function:

• Photos Library (Read): To display your Live Photos for selection
• Photos Library (Write): To save converted HEIC images back to your library

Important: This access is used exclusively on your device. No photos or data are ever uploaded to servers, cloud services, or transmitted over the internet.

How Your Data is Processed

All photo conversion and processing happens entirely on your device:

• Photos are read directly from your iOS Photos library
• Metadata extraction and HEIC conversion occur in device memory
• Converted images are saved back to your Photos library
• No temporary files are uploaded or transmitted
• No network requests are made during conversion

Third-Party Services

Live Photo Converter does not integrate with any third-party services, including:

• Analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase)
• Advertising networks
• Cloud storage providers
• Social media platforms
• Crash reporting services

The app is completely self-contained and does not embed any third-party SDKs or tracking libraries.

Data Storage

Live Photo Converter does not maintain any servers or databases. All data remains on your device:

• Original Live Photos remain in your Photos library (unmodified)
• Converted HEIC images are saved to your Photos library as new assets
• App preferences (if any) are stored locally using iOS UserDefaults
• No data is synchronized to iCloud or any cloud service by our app

iOS System Integration

The app uses standard iOS frameworks provided by Apple:

• Photos Framework: For accessing and saving photos to your library
• ImageIO Framework: For metadata extraction and HEIC encoding
• CoreLocation: For preserving GPS coordinates (no active location tracking)

These frameworks operate under iOS privacy protections. Your photos remain under your control and subject to iOS permissions you grant.

Permissions Required

The app requests the following iOS permissions:

• Photos Library Access (Read): Required to display your Live Photos for selection. We only read photos you explicitly select.
• Photos Library Access (Write): Required to save converted HEIC images back to your library.

You can revoke these permissions at any time through iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.

Children's Privacy

Live Photo Converter does not collect any data from users of any age. The app is safe for children and complies with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) by design, as it does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.

Data Security

Since no data leaves your device, traditional data security concerns (encryption in transit, server breaches, etc.) do not apply. Your photos are protected by:

• iOS built-in security (device encryption, Face ID/Touch ID)
• Your device passcode/biometric authentication
• iOS app sandboxing (prevents unauthorized access by other apps)

International Data Transfers

Not applicable. Since Live Photo Converter does not transmit any data over the internet, there are no international data transfers.

Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA Compliance)

Although Live Photo Converter does not collect personal data, we respect user rights under privacy regulations:

• Right to Access: All your data (photos) remain on your device under your control
• Right to Deletion: Delete the app at any time; no data persists on our end
• Right to Portability: Your photos remain in standard iOS Photos format
• Right to Object: You control all permissions via iOS Settings

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal/regulatory reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.

We will never change our core privacy commitment: Live Photo Converter will always be 100% offline with no data collection.
